About SonoPath

SonoPath.com was founded in 2007 by Eric Lindquist, DMV (Italy), DABVP (CFP), Cert. IVUSS to provide a source of sonographic pathology information accessible to veterinarians of all levels of canine, feline, and exotic medicine. Dr. Lindquist has been immersed in a unique environment of sonographic pathology and internal medicine cases as a mobile veterinary sonographer since February 2001. His monthly caseload ranged between 200-400 cases/month over this nearly 7 year period. Prior to that, he spent 4 years in intense veterinary hospital environments with primary duties of imaging and surgery.

Becoming a Resource

Through these experiences Dr. Lindquist saw the need for a resource that was readily available to anyone who uses the probe, directly or indirectly, in solving small animal internal medicine cases. With the endless assistance of his veterinary clients’ staff, he archived 5 years worth of clinical material utilizing thousands of cases of sonographic pathology for journal publication and SonoPath.com.

The resulting resource, SonoPath.com, offers direct online and hard copy aid to the veterinarian, presenting the historical events of cases from the moment of patient presentation to the clinical outcome, and showcasing the sonographic perspectives that were found along the way. SonoPath.com offers a textbook, DVD, and a searchable archive of pathological presentations, as well as future projects that will develop based on the feedback of site users as they relate their needs through the contact page.

Dr. Lindquist presented the abstract on Ultrasound/Endoscopic Guided Laser Ablation (UGELAB) of urinary transitional cell carcinoma at the Eurpoean College of Veterinary Medicine Conference (ECVIM) in Budapest, Hungary September 14, 2007.

Modus Operandum at SonoPath.com
Dr. Eric Lindquist built SonoPath.com as a support mechanism and research organization for those utilizing ultrasound in clinical veterinary practice whether they actually do the sonography themselves, insource, or outsource the sonogram procedure.  SonoPath is not a radiology company but  a group of veterinary clinicians that utilize ultrasound and other modalities as the integral part of the clinical workup. SonoPath’s  network is  50+ research collaborators whose credentials span from veterinary specialists, general practitioners, veterinary technicians, researchers, RDMS sonographers, veterinary clients, and support staff- all of whom are dedicated to enhancing diagnostic efficiency in veterinary medicine.

Dr. Lindquist provides virtual consultations and supports primarily mobile veterinary sonographers in the United States, Canada, and across Europe and other countries. Dr. Lindquist and his colleagues provide mentorship regarding efficient mobile sonography, clinical sonography, hospital operations, business advice, and utility of ultrasound in practice, as well as advice on how to approach problems of every type that occur with such operations. Among these exchanges, case consultations are also performed as a vehicle for addressing learning curves in all aspects of clinical sonography. A large proportion of the proceeds of these consultations are returned into SonoPath research operations for publications, SonoPath.com online resources, and improvement of the veterinary field through research.

Problems and Solutions

For optimal resolution of mobile sonography-related issues, relying on expert sonographic and clinical interpretation is paramount. This principle underscores why SonoPath offers consultations for clinical case. Our consultation services are extended to a network of sonographers who meet specific criteria in both their expertise and professional dedication to veterinary medicine. SonoPath adheres to a rigorous process and does not offer consultations to clients without prior interviews. This approach ensures the highest quality of information and maintains the integrity of the SonoPath network. By upholding these standards, we uphold the founding ideals of SonoPath.com.

While we operate as business, our primary commitment lies in advancing clinical medicine through remotes exchanges. We prioritize fostering a supportive community of skilled professionals who continually enhance their abilities through collaboration. Through our consultation fees, we contribute to ongoing research initiatives that further this mission.
