The first thing you notice walking into the lab at the SonoPath Education Center is the
energy. Every station is set up to replicate real-world patient scenarios. You will practice
approaches and needle selection, perform fine-needle aspirates on the spleen, liver, kidneys,
lymph nodes, intestines, and prostate, and even gain experience with liver and prostatic
biopsies. Thoracic fluid sampling and drainage are also part of the curriculum. You will see
practice probe positioning and capture images under the guidance of SDEP®-certified
sonographers. Feedback is immediate and specific, showing you not just what you found, but
what it means in the context of patient care.
The beauty of an SDEP® Sampling Lab is that it is built around doing, not
