Shari Reffi, C.V.T., SDEP™ Certified Clinical Sonographer

My passion for animals began as I was growing up in Wyckoff, N.J. Riding my pony to the local Dairy Queen for a banana split was a favorite pastime! While pursuing a degree in Exercise Science at BCC I began working for Datascope, a corporate medical company. In that time period we were the leaders in Intra-aortic balloon pumps and patient monitoring. Promoted to our PTCA (Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty) R&D lab division, I worked closely with our engineers and was instrumental in the development of our guide wires. Ironically many years later Datascope’s patient monitoring division was bought by Mindray! Leaving the corporate world to raise a family and follow my heart by working with animals, I have enjoyed the general practice veterinary setting for over 25 years. And have been practicing as a Certified Veterinary Technician since 2000. When given the opportunity to attend Dr. Lindquist’s SDEP ultrasound training program first in abdomen and then cardiac, I jumped at the chance. Under the tutelage of Dr. Lindquist, the SonoPath team, hard work and determination I was performing ultrasounds within the hospital setting. In 2019, I embraced the challenge of going mobile with SonoPath as an SDEP certified clinical sonographer, soon to be instructor and Mindray service engineer. I feel incredibly blessed to be working with such an amazing, supportive and talented team!

Currently I reside in Sussex County, N.J. with my fiancé Chris. In our free time Chris and I enjoy spending time with our children, Zoe, Adam, Ryan and Jesse. We love kayaking, horseback riding, exploring national parks, reading, photography, cooking and showing our chickens. Our many pets include our Border Collie “Banjo, Quarter Horse “Cowboy”, 2 rabbits, a Mini Rex, “Adriana” and a Dutch, “Twix”, 11 chickens of various breeds (Yes, they all have names) ☺ Plus 2 “extended” family pets that live with us, horses Ed and Buster!
