Phil Zeltzman DVM, DACVS - Veterinary Surgery
 

Dr. Phil Zeltzman is a traveling, board-certified veterinary surgeon around Allentown, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. 

After graduating in 1993 from the University of Liege, School of Veterinary Medicine in Belgium, Dr. Zeltzman simultaneously worked as a general practitioner, emergency vet and journalist for 3 years in his native city of Paris, France.  He completed a 1-year internship at the University of Georgia, then a 3-year surgical residency at Surgical Referral Service in Buffalo Grove, near Chicago, IL.  He then worked as a surgeon for 4 years at a surgical practice in Cincinnati, OH, and 4 years at a surgical practice in Allentown, PA.  He is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons.

A passionate surgeon, his interests include all aspects of soft tissue, orthopedic, cancer, reconstructive, emergency and neuro-surgery.  He is a certified surgeon for the Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO).  He has a strong interest in the prevention and treatment of overweight and obesity.  His newest endeavor is stem cell therapy.

He is a Certified Veterinary Journalist, award-winning author and a prolific speaker.  He recently co-wrote “Walk a Hound, Lose a Pound,” a book about weight loss in dogs and humans (www.WalkaHound.com). He also writes a (free) weekly, award-winning newsletter for true dog and cat lovers, available at www.DrPhilZeltzman.com.  It is read in all 50 States (and Washington DC), as well as 40 foreign countries.
