Signalment: 10 year old FS Mixed Breed Dog

Radiologist's Description: This longitudinal image of the kidney demonstrates a normal ovoid or slightly kidney bean contour. The renal cortex (wide arrow) is echogenic in comparison to the medullary pyramids. Distinct delineation between the cortex and medulla is noted at the corticomedullary junction (thin arrow). The faintly echogenic, parallel, linear foci visible within the central aspect of the kidney represent the region of the pelvis. The renal cortical and medullary parenchyma are fairly smooth and homogeneous. Conclusions: Normal canine kidney.

Definitive Diagnosis: Normal kidney.
