Signalment: 7 year old MN Yorkshire Terrier
Radiologist's Description: A long-axis view of the left liver demonstrates a heteroechoic, markedly hypoechoic parenchyma compared to falciform fat (thin arrow). The liver is overall of small size (evidenced by the flattened diaphragm and 2.5-cm left lobe width) with an irregular linear contour to the pulmonary-diaphragmatic interface (large arrow), serosal-falciform margins in the near field, and portal veins. The intrahepatic portal vascular markings are moderately echogenic (small arrow).
Definitive Diagnosis: USG Bx: Microvascular dysplasia with chronic active hepatitis, copper accumulation, early fibrosis, and cirrhosis. Aerobic and anaerobic cultures were negative after 96 hours.
